Hi DJ JimmyM,

I remember answering this for somebody quite a while ago. Guess it wasn't you. Anyway, the song you want is from a medley: I'm Ready/Disco Star, off the album Strange Affair by Strange Affair.

It's a 1980 Italian import on the Targa label, # TAL 1402, recorded in Philadelphia. :o

Don't know about a 12" release, but if you link to GEMM from here they've got it:

Well unfortunatly I am affraid to use Gemm after what just happened to me the first time ever using it. I actually just contacted Gemm about it too and see if they get back to me. I was scammed by a place supposidly based in Philadellphia called Record Kingdom. I had sent a money order to them for a 12" and they claimed they never receved it (and i set the order up by phone as well) and after a but I had the MO traced and it was cashed and there was no responce back from the person when i said i was having it traced. The other funny thing was that they are now no longer a seller on Gemm. Beware if you ever come accross this too. The web site of theirs looks real as hell as well but i had a friend check it out and they know alot about stuff and said that something didnt seem right about it. So, just beware Record Kingdom. But I wont use Gemm ever again unless I get this issue resolved. You know anywhere else that may have the Strange Affair LP?

Jimmy, when we first carried the Strange Affair album at Aloha (Bobby V. bought his copy at the store), I remember not too many copies came in, plus the quality was not the greatest. However, you may have heard "Don't Stop The Music" on some of Bobby's sets, which is also included on the album.

What was the seller's rating? GEMM allows -- and encourages -- buyers to post feedback, just like eBay. I don't do business with any seller that has a rating of less than three stars. GEMM will drop vendors that consistently get poor ratings, so that could well explain why this place no longer appears there.

I've bought many records through GEMM, and I've never been blatantly scammed like that. Mind you, I pay by credit card, so I could do a chargeback if they didn't deliver the goods. The only negative GEMM experience I had was with one seller who shipped me a record that was in much worse shape than their description implied. I've had a couple of other problems with postal delivery as well, but these were not the fault of the sellers, and they all got resolved anyway.

I found the Album in Utrecht last year on the record fair(500+ tables). The quality wasn't very good. Im like "Don't stop the music" and "I'm ready". The cover is orange with two men and a woman dressed black with sunglasses.
The tracks can also be found as track 5-9 on the Tangerue feat. Strange affair "Greatest hits" CD on HOT Records(GEMM,Amazon).
The Tangerue Vinyl seems to be one of the worlds rarest records, I've never seen a copy and it wasn't listed in GEMM.

You mean the one with "Dance With Me"? I found that one not too long ago. It was released in Canada on Unidisc back in the day...

Hi !
I they are different groups but they put them together on one CD because they have a similar style. Tangerue is an Ed Strauman production, Strange affair was produced by J.Salerni. They have different musicians. The credits can be seen at yahoo.
Thanks to Graham, now i have hope Unidisc will rerelease Tangerue on vinyl sometimes.

Thanks Martinus. So, it's a '2 for 1' CD. I was a little bit confused as CD's marketed this way usually have the same artists with 2 different albums. You said you have the CD. How does it sound, quality wise? Is it a good pressing?

Nicky, I just ordered the disc. If you like, I'll let you know my opinion of the quality once I receive it. However, I also found the import pressing of the album to be on the poor side, so I'm not expecting much from the CD.

Happy Holidays!!

Thanks, Keefe. Trust your opinion on sound and quality. I haven't been on David Nathan's site lately. Have they released that Three Degree's CD you talked about before? The one with Set Me Free?
