| I am looking for a song from around 1972. It was a version of a very famous classical symphony. It was not singed, and was played in organ in fast pace in proto-disco style. It sounded a lot like the theme from the Rockford Files. Someone here suggested "Sultana" by "Titanic" from 1971. So far I could not listen to it on the web. This is a difficult one. Can anybody help me? |

| Maybe the keyboard instrumental "Joy" by Apollo 100 (1972) based on Bach's "Jesu, Joy Of Man's Desiring"?

| YEAH!!! It was JOY!! I listened to a classical version of "Jesu, Joy Of A Man..." and bingo!! I could not find the one by Apollo 100 for a demo. But it is in quite a few albums. I ordered the one from Boogie Nights 2 (surprise), so it not so unknown. All Music states that it was a number 6 hit on 1972; perhaps in Europe (Apollo 100 were English). A number 6 should be more known: wonder why it was not on most disco compilations. I looked very hard for this one. It's been long years since I have not heard it. When you play it, you could easily listen the roots of disco. Markydefad, thanks a lot and Happy Holidays!!!! |
