Default A dance song with the words "Flying High" in/aroun

Any takers??? I'm not exactly sure of the lyrics but if anyone out there has even the slightest idea - pls let me know. The lyrics might also be "riding high" in place of "flying high" and towards the middle of the mix, a seductive, female voice would say "take me" afterwhich the mix would go into a solo flute/sax mix. Thanx 1 & all !!!

Sorry Bernie, I just have to ask again.

from what I can remember the lyrics went something like this:

"flying high, get it cool, get it up, you'll be known, let the way that you give, nice and slow . . . "

The mix lasted about 20 minutes. It had lots of congas, strings, synthesizers, etc. Almost sounded like a Boris Midney or Alec R. Constantinos tune. The vocals were definitely female.

Well, I ran a search on GEMM, going on the single detail you've provided and it would seem the performer was Tschai Prender; it's available both as LP and 12" Single. :-? Hope this helps you.

JA

I also checked GEMM. Unfortunately the seller is unable to verify whether this is a disco/dance tune. Worst comes to worse, I'll sacrifice a few dollars to order the LP.

P.S. Ever hear of Tschai Prender in disco/dance music????

I ran a google search on Tschai Prender and it seems he also made a track in 1981 named "Hot Feat"

here's the link: http://home.worldonline.dk/thejip/trade-p.htm

Let me see! :)

You posted this query also on GEMM, have gotten there 2 tangiable leads... I take it you've read those replies but they weren't on the money... :o

I suggest you either search on Google (requires lots of patience & time) or try getting in touch with prominent disco figures from the greater NYC area + Long Island disco scene of the 70's (top mixers, record pool owners, leading DJ's). I for one reckon that if you haven't found the answer thus far, you won't find it on this site. You certainly have your work cut out for you!

Looking at this post again I was wondering if this couldn't be Janis Ian's "Fly Too High?" Just played the track, but the lyrics don't seem to match. It's a really nice Giorgio Moroder production.

Thanks for the warm welcome NickNack. I have been looking at the website for the last couple of weeks, only got round to the forum yesterday (slow, or what!)
Checked the Faze-0, don't think it's this track, as it's not long enough and does not fit the description given!

JV and Bernie, thanks for looking out. I checked FAZE-O and Janis Ian. FAZE-O is more funk oriented and Ian to be folk/jazz.

I can tell you this, the "Flying High," I am looking for was played by WBLS' Frankie Crocker Show. It's the only time I heard it. The other was on a friend's 8-Track mixtape he had that was recorded while in Germany. Unfortunately Mr. Crocker passed away. If there were a possibility of obtaining his record lists for 1977/78 (and 79) from BLS - I'd go for it. I've emailed BLS many atimes and never receive a response. As for my friend's recording, that is long gone and he has no recollection where he obtained or who made the mixtape recording. . . sucks.

And the search continues. Thanks one&all!!!
