Default The best disco in town. "You've got me where you want me"???

Hi,

I was listening to the Ritchie Family's "The Best Disco in Town" recently and one song fragment has me puzzled. Right after the bit where they sing "The only way to fly is when you Fly, Robin, Fly" they sing "You've got me where you want me".

"You've got me where you want me" sounds familiar but I can't quite place which song they are referring to. It is driving me mad. Could somebody fill me in on the song and artist please?

Thanks,
TimTam

Hmm, I think it is from their own song "Romantic Love", I will check my record now.

No, it's not from their "Romantic Love", but from their "Brazil". Here is a sample: http://data.mp3.de/s1/0298/298784/_7...ily-Brazil.mp3

It's so weird you brought this up, because I was not only listening to the song recently, but I was also looking at the label, and I noticed that they did not list the titles (or the writers) of the other songs they included parts of in that medley. I think that's illegal today, isn't it? And another thing: I've always wondered if many of those albums released by Marlin Records may be available on CD in Florida, where Marlin Records was located. Anyone in Miami know?

Thanks FunkyChris.

Above and beyond to post the MP3 of the particular section of the song. Much appreciated.

Ol'Skinflint. Perhaps the writers of the songs used in "Best Disco" thought of the song as free advertising. Then again there are so many songs used that once everybody got their cut from the law suit it might not have amounted to enough to cover the legal fees.

To answer another point raised, none of the Ritchie Family's LPs has been released on CD. The best you can find is a greatest hits package, which has many of the hits in a short version.

However the original LPs are reasonably easy to get hold of on eBay, etc. - so if you have the ability to record those onto CD for your own personal use, that's nearly as good.
