Hi! I'm not sure but I think you may be talking about IMAGINATION, the same guys who sang "It's Just An Illusion." I got both songs in a Cd in my car; I need to go check.

Quick comment: I think the singer was actually a guy with a high pitched falsetto voice.

no, it is not the ASHFORD & SIMPSON song - I hear it and the lyrics are very different. The other song I can remeber that repeats the word FLASHBACK is the one RICARDO mentioned on his post, recorded by IMAGINATION - do you know this track?

I see a record titled "Flashback" in the Billboard R&B book by a C. M. Lord (Catherine Mitchell Lord). It peaked 1/9/82--so it must have been released in late 1981.

Wild guess--could this be the one??? :???:
