What an excellent soul track. Linda Womack's voice is breathtaking and Cecil does his part fine also.
This couple has recorded some great songs and albums and have written a bunch of classics with "Love T.K.O." being on the top of my list. Their version of the song wasn't too bad either.

I had the chance to do a phone interview with Cecil Womack about 10 years ago when I used to write for a music mag.
He seemed like a really nice guy and said he was looking forward to coming to Greece (they did a gig a few weeks later here in Athens) because he wanted to know if Greece was like Spain where people stay out having fun all night.
I remember telling him he wouldn't believe the traffic at 4 a.m. Fri & Sat! hehe

Jazz & Deep,

Have you heard the UK 12" version of "Baby I'm Scared of You?" It's not exactly extended, but it is different than the version on the Maximum Club Classics CD. The flip side contains "A. P. B." Can't tell you the time since it doesn't list it. Can't understand why UK 12" ers are notorious for not listing timings.

Can someone give me the label for the domestic (US) 12"?

Bernie, does the UK 12" differ from the US?

Always went crazy for this song.

Nicky,

Are you sure this was released in the US as a 12"? I was once told it was a UK only 12" on Elektra which is why I picked it up when I saw it.

As I said it doesn't have any timing on the label, but I clocked it at 5:38 whereas the version on the Maximum Club Classics CD which uses the LP cut is 4:03.

You are absolutely right. I just looked and it's not US. I also just pulled Volume 2 of the "Give Your Body Up" CD series. This version matches the 12" and is indeed timed at 5:38.

Wasn't the name of this Womack and Womack song changed to "Baby, I'm Scared of You," after radio station callers kept requesting that title, while the original title was "I Don't Believe In Magic?"
