Ohio Players - Everybody Up ?

It's from their lone 1979 Arista Lp. It's funny that this song has been asked to identify a number of times on this forum. Could it be because the Ohio Players are losing their trademark sound and core member?

I'll tell you what...I don't know awfully much about the "Everybody Up" album except for the sub-par effort "Take De Funk Off", The funky "Say It" and there is a song titled "Please Don't Say Goodbye" that I thought was an excellent cut. I remember asking about this years ago in one of my very first posts to this forum.

The sad truth coming from "The Players" who along with countless other great groups from the era, were going through the changes of times and the result as eddie mentioned was losing some of their core members from the Westbound & Mercury years and trying to compensate for them by replacing the lost members with new ones...hence the sound that they parlayed throughout the 80's. To me,they were never the same again.
