Is Herbie Mann's "HiJack" available in any format...also looking for 'Disco Connection" by Isaac Hayes Movement from 1976...and some stuff on Monument Records from 1977....any help would be appreciated...thanks

To answer your question, I saw the original LP version of Herbie Mann's "Hi-Jack" ( a big personal fave of mine, BTW) on a Herbie Mann box set--BUT didn't want it bad enough to spring the $50 or so bucks for that CD.]

Are you aware of those remixes on Atlantic titled "Everybody Dance!" ? "Hi-jack" was included--BUT they're remixed for the current dance floor scene--so they will mostly disappoint--although there were a few that I liked. "Twilight Zone" remixed by Jason Nevins & Albert Cabrera comes to mind as "a good thing" and a couple of Spinners & Aretha songs were given good beats, also.

Ney Danceman. I have "Hijack" on a cd titled "let there be Drums, Vol.3: The 70's."
It's 5:17 in length on this cd and is the original. By the way, I have that Everybody Dance cd and I would not recommend it.

i have a few english copies on 7" if that will do you e.mail me your address and ill send you one also have you ever heard of creative funk records from albany n.y. who put out singles in the early to mid 70s and reactivated the label in the 80s for a couple of 12" things ci-ci etc the label was owned by a guy called deek de berry ??

I have "Hi Jack" in a CD compilation called "Atlantic Dance Classics" next to good stuff by Sister Sledge, Change, Cerrone, Manhattan Transfer, etc. The CD cover is green and orange with several dance shoes. I can look for the catalog number if you want.

Thank you again, Nano....btw: you didn't care for "Dancin' in the Key of Life?"... I remember wherever I went, that song and "Feels So Real" were dance floor fillers whenever the crowd wanted to come down from on high a couple of notches...
