Clip 3 is Madonna Shoo-Be-Doo
Clip 5 I recognise but need to hear a bit more as it cuts off too soon. Big Italo track though

Hey,
Any chance of putting the full tape up for download? Although Im too young to have ever gone to the Saint, Im a big fan of a lot of the music and the DJs who played there like Roy Thode, Jim Burgess et al who have had a big influence on the way I play and mix records.

Unfortunately info on Shaun Buchanan seems fairly hard to come by so even if you dont want to put the tape, would you be able to put a bit of info up on him here maybe(or mail me). All I know about him is that he was English and got into the NY scene in the early 80s.

Thanks
Conor,

He started out as a waiter (in slinky shorts) at the Embassy Club in London before heading over to NYC, where he got his break DJing. He had a very short career before he died, sadly.

WOW I remember the embassy in London. Nice looking waiters. Also remember Shaun at the Saint. He became famous from that track, Sleeping Lions, Sound of my Heart. I think he was the first to play it. Where ever did you find Shaun tapes ?

Well, having lived in NYC throughout that period of time and being part of that particular party scene, it was relatively easy to obtain copies of party tapes, either from friends who already had copies, or from the DJ's themselves if you were acquainted with them.

I have quite a few sets of party tapes from a number of DJ's during that period, including one set of twelve 90 minute casettes from a Saint White Party played by Robbie Leslie.

Do the math - that particular party lasted about 18 hours from beginning to end! It was certainly a wild time...

I also have a number of sets from several of the DJ's who played the Final Closing Party at the Saint in the Spring of 1988 (THAT party lasted from Saturday night until Monday afternoon) including Robbie Leslie, Jim Burgess and a few others.

I can remember adjusting my work schedule around my time at The Saint. Still remember it as some of my favorite times. I remember when Warren used to play at a bar on Long Island before the Saint opened.
