Faces
Sumneytown Pike, Lansdale, PA
"The place where faces meet"
This suburban Philly club was a converted motel & restaurant. The restaurant & lobby became the club.
Decent lighting, sound sytem & dance floor. There was only one DJ & I don't recall the DJ's name but he kept it hoppin'.
Faces was my first visit to a disco and it was fairly new at the time. At it's peak on the weekends it got way to crowded to dance and I started going to 5-6 area clubs.
Most memorable moments:
Winning some dance contests there.
Later watching the dance competitions getting so competitive the female contestants stopped wearing underwear (panty hose only).
When they were spinning or dipping the crowd went nuts. The winners were determined by the crowds cheering.
Had some good times at Faces.
