La Dolce Vita
119 South St. Philadelphia, PA
This club used to be open 7 nights a week till 4a.m. It would do over 1,000 people Friday and Saturday and average 300 during the week. Sam Larussa was the owner and Ernie Marconi and Chuck Favata were DJ's with Rusty Garner on lights. High energy and some wild partying.

COMMENTS ON THIS DISCO / DISCOTHEQUE / NIGHTCLUB
This club was actually called Scruples in the early 1980's.....It then became Christine's....in the mid/late 1980's....Very good club on South Street....excellent music like Lime (Angel Eyes, Babe Were Gonna Love Tonight), Bobby O., (She Has A Way) Inner Life (Caught Up in One Night Love Affair), C-Bank (One More Shot)....My friend Gino Capporale was a DJ here...Later Bob Pantano was the DJ at Christine's for a while.
I cut my disco teeth at LaDolce...yes, during highschool. Back then, you could get into clubs at 17.
Looking for some old friends from back then..Gino Bruno, George Walsh and Vin DiClementi. If you guys are out there, get in touch!
The problem with this club was that if you were from So. Philly, you were always looking to get away from So. Philly people and La Dolce Vita was all So Philly mob wannabees. The last time I went, I actually ran into my uncle and that was it for me. Before it was La Dolce Vita, it was Picadilly and it was much better then.
if you mean geno malanno he is in the witness protection program.la dolce vita was the club in philly till the second story opened.it was a pre-aids party that never ended. chuck favata philly dj
Hey,
No, Gino Bruno. He married a girl named Joanna Hinkle.
It was the only place to end the night. We would hit 3 night clubs and always end up at la dolce. It was the only club that rocked til 4am. By the way, it was mob central but u better believe no one bothered you in there. The music was insane and so was the crowd. How about the melrose afterwards?
