DCA - Cellblock

Camac & St. James, Center City, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

Fantastic private club, flawless DJ Kurt Borusiewicz played above the dancefloor and kept patrons dancing non-stop for hours. You only stopped because you needed a drink or there was no room left on the dancefloor. High end light and FSA custom sound system, Crown power, Gauss drivers & JBL Tweeter arrays, great 360' sound. Mike Cavallone & Rene Kane played there also.

COMMENTS ON THIS DISCO / DISCOTHEQUE / NIGHTCLUB

We got there around 1 am and the place would pack in shortly after. Small dance floor filled with hot sweating bodies. It was the greatest! I had the honor to have known the late DJ Kurt Borusiewicz. A lot of people are gone but not forgotten. Don't forget DJ Michael DeCero who is still out there spinning them. I still have tapes that he and Mike Cavallone made for me.
They were crazy times but the best of times.

And a big shout out and hug to Frank Sestito!

Yea DCA and the Second Story were two of my most favorite places. Going there almost every week end with my best friend Cha Cha (Alan Bussenger)made sure that I was in the right place at the right time. Both clubs had the sweetest sound systems although nothing could compare to Second Story not even Catacombs-I had the pleasure to work at both clubs.

The DCA was the place to go in the mid 70's. What a great time to be young. I remember Kurt and Troy playing the best disco anywhere. It was a time of pre-AIDS and a freedom we probably will never have again. I have most every song I ever heard there on my ipod (and the long versions!). I am so lucky to have had the DCA experience!
