The Live Acts booked at Cherry's on Weekends were The Trammps, Chic, The Village People, Andrea True, Tavares, The Stylistics and believe it or not, 1 weekend they booked "The Joe Frazier Revue".
They had a 30 week Hustle Dance Contest and gave away 2 "cherry red Corvettes". A great club that will be missed

Cherry's - I was almost knocked over by one of the Village People as they muscled through the crowd to reach the stage. Good show. We had a lot of fun back then.

I went to Cherry's a few times back in the late 70s. I was supposed to see CJ & Company perform there but they didn't make it and, in their absence, I saw Evelyn Champagne King.
The biggest classic disco concert is Disco Ball 9 @ trump Taj Mahal Casino resort atlantic city nj on saturday oct 16, 2010. im sure all my buddies from cherry's will be there. Appearing live 13 artists, gloria gaynor, rob parissi of wild cherry, santa esmeralda starring leroy gomez, the trammps featuring earl young, sugar hill gang, rose royce, norma jean wright luci martin formerly of chic, anita ward, peaches and herb, musique, lime, linda clifford, heavy weight champion smokin joe frazier, wcbs fm dj (originally wktu fm dj) Joe causi.
