COMMENTS ON THIS DISCO / DISCOTHEQUE / NIGHTCLUB

of 1983- Joe Causi was there. We've

I used to work at 21 North back in '83&'84. Tony M. owned the club. Tony used to be the deep voice for a lot of radio spots for clubs all over Long Island. Do you remember the club Speaks, Tony used to do the radio commercials for it. Had a really BIG voice for a guy who was only 5'3". Tony Basile
CRAZY SUNDAYS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
WHAT A TIME IN MY LIFE!!!!!!!!!!!!!
WAS THE BEST SUNDAY PARTY AROUND!!!
AFTER SPINNIG FRI AND SAT NITES I USED TO GO WITH MY LIGHT MAN "EC" FROM SPRING VALLEY....CRAZY SUNDAYS WAS LIKE A FRI OR SAT AT ANY OTHER CLUB!...WAS THE EARLY DAYS OF "KRYSTOL"....THE BIG VID SCREEN...SUKEN DANCE FLOOR....MJ'S THRILLER VIDEO FOR THE FIRST TIME....WHAT A PLACE!
Crazy People Sundays during the summers of 1983-85 were the best!! I can remember 21 North's final night in February 1986 like it was yesterday. Two months later, Cristal opened in its place, but it was never the same. The big video screen at the back of the club was great, showing such crowd favorites as "Thriller," "Maniac," "Let's Dance," "She Works Hard For The Money," and "Sledgehammer." DJs Mike S. and Dennis P. worked the tables, while Billy and Adam made sure everyone who entered was at least 18 years of age. (The minimum drinking age was raised to 19 in October 1985.)
I will post up some of my old 21 North pics soon.
Remember the radio commercial?
"21 North. Westchester's premier video dance club. Located in the Caldor Shopping Center, Route 1 in Port Chester. Call (914) XXX-XXXX. 21 North."
I remember when me and my boy Cecil he would pick me up at my house at 11:00pm.in his Buick LeSabre with the moon roof open and driving past the front door of 21 with it's long line Cecil would have the music blasting everybody would know we were here and we party all night long and we didn't leave until the lights came on just after 4:00am. I hear that cuz!!!!!
Anyone out there remember Sunday nights at Hoops in Mt. Vernon (late 70's early 80's)?
