Jan 22, 2011 | 8:02 amLarry Tortorese owned the club, always did, from when it was Detroits thru Crystals, Tony was his brother and bartender. Vicky managed the club. Gabe started at the door then Billy took his place. The club lasted about 4.5 yrs, opened in 82.
The crew that worked there actually made it happen and we are still friends today. Larry passed away a few years back. I still see Tommy, Vicky, Lenny (bar), Lisa (coat), Neil (bar), Pam (front bar), Dino (bar)and Jamie (main bar). The memories are priceless!

Jan 14, 2011 | 10:11 pm21 North was as good as any club in NYC. I've been a club DJ since 1984 and have never seen lighting like there's before or since. Does anyone know who put in their lighting? It was always my ambition to spin there, but alas it wasn't meant to be. I worked the mix at other area clubs including Gambits/The Marriott in Tarrytown, Garbo's in Greenwich, and Teddy's (both in Mt. Kisco & Danbury)to name a few. how I miss 21 North. It was a place like no other.

You're bringing back some incredible memories man! Best times ever!Havin' a great time was all anyone seemed to care about in those days. Nobody worrying about AIDS, DWI checkpoints were limited or non-existant,& things were affordable enough that we could jump from club to club damn near 5 or 6 nights a week. Every week! Would love to go back in time and live just one week running through that Westchester party scene the way we did way back then.

Dec 21, 2006 | 2:02 pmCrazy People Sundays during the summers of 1983-85 were the best!! I can remember 21 North's final night in February 1986 like it was yesterday. Two months later, Cristal opened in its place, but it was never the same. The big video screen at the back of the club was great, showing such crowd favorites as "Thriller," "Maniac," "Let's Dance," "She Works Hard For The Money," and "Sledgehammer." DJs Mike S. and Dennis P. worked the tables, while Billy and Adam made sure everyone who entered was at least 18 years of age. (The minimum drinking age was raised to 19 in October 1985.)
I will post up some of my old 21 North pics soon.
Remember the radio commercial?
"21 North. Westchester's premier video dance club. Located in the Caldor Shopping Center, Route 1 in Port Chester. Call (914) XXX-XXXX. 21 North."

Oct 20, 2005 | 4:12 amI met my husband at 21 North in March
of 1983- Joe Causi was there. We've
been married 21 years and have 4 beautiful
sons. Thanks to 21 North!

The club was open in 81. The MOB wanted part of it. They came to shoot the owner but mistook the bartender for him. I remember BIG TONY and the crew. Gabe was a pretty boy..No mussle. P.S. The bartender survived! THE END
