Hula's (Bar and Lei Stand)
Kapiolani St. Honolulu. Hawaii
Located in the middle of Waikiki. Most of the club was outside, under a huge Banyan tree. The dance floor was inside , as was half of its long bar. Shorts , tank tops, and sandals were the norm.

My very first dj gigs were at the world famous Hula's in Waikiki in the early 80s and I was there for 6 years. I had a BLAST!!!!! Its since then moved its location to the other side of Waikiki, but it's still as popular and legendary as ever...Some of the best djs I ever heard (a big influences at that) included such jocks as Kevin Okada,who still runs the local record pool there, dj Brad, dj Robin Nics, and the fabulous dj Ricky Lopez (Rickey, WHERE ARE YOU????)...Aloha, Johnny Torres
I found this to be one of the most bombest systems, under a huge tree filled with xmas lights over its dance floor. Visited by many celebraties and millions of others. it will always be an experience that shall never be forgotten. goodwitch
