I remember going to this club when I was club hopping and trying to sample everyone's mixing talents. It was a very local type of place if you know what I mean. Not much to it, I remember you could not blast the music because you could blow the speakers (I had one night of DJing there). I do not remember the 2 Djs that I met there, one was from the Alphabet City area and he thpought he was the greatest when it came to spinning. I remember one night he said to a friend that he was better than the other DJ and the other DJ heard it, the poor boy played one cut that night, the last cut of the night.
Hey,
I vaguely remember the spot, it was by St Marks Place, near the Black Cube that the skate boarders hang out at near the Starbucks on the corner. The Astor haircutters was down the block.
All my peeps from Spanish Harlem (hustle dancers) went there. The only thing that sticks out in my memory is that they didnt have enuf bartenders and we would reach over and fill our beer glasses when they weren't looking!!! We had fun! I dont remember who spun the music there! It didnt last long!!!
ZZzzz
