Tuts was the top spot in Staten Island in 1979 for hardcore Disco. I was the DJ there for 7 months, five nights a week (Wed. thru Sun.) while being a member of International Disco Record Center (I.D.R.C.) record pool, after leaving the first New York record pool on Prince St (at the infamous Loft.)

Before Tuts, was Haadar ll, Honey for the Bees, and originally S.I's first disco....Haadar.
Mike Pace was the D.J. for all the former club names, leading up to Tuts. It was a rather small room that held about 300 legally, and was rather crowded most nights.

The music I programmed was mostly all the hottest releases, filled with underground Garage, techno, pre-house, Euro Disco, Funk, R&B, sleaze, Dance Rock, and anything else that I could introduce to the crowd to make them go crazy. I loved to start at 100 BPM, then take it slowly all the way up to HiNRG 136, then gradually back down to 100 with out missing a beat.

    Those days were GREAT!!!
    Peace.
