That is correct Mike Pace was the first DJ at L'Amour but Mike wasn't a heavy metal DJ. When Mike left L'Amour to open the Brooklyn Zoo, I took over and that was the end of dance rock, and dancing in general. It was all Heavy Metal afterwards.

I was the first Heavy Metal DJ there, after Mike Pace. I knew Danny Pooch too, we all chewed up some of the same DJ Booths in the area. I didn't spin disco there, but I hung out in the crowd watching the dancers. L'Amour is more famous for being a rock club, but as a disco it was one of the better local clubs to dance at.

My husband hung out at L'Amour in his heavy metal hair-down-to-there days. I went later on right before metal ended and grunge toook over. What a place!
