Tina Charles speaks to DiscoMusic.com about her '70s Disco years
400 Route 109, East Farmingdale, NY
My name is Rori Gordon. I owned Anvines from 1982 until 1989. I have to many great memories to start a list, not only did I own the club, I lived on the premises for my entire career at the facility. I did a search tonight and put in the name to find it mentioned a few times on this website. How thoughtful for people to write such wonderful things. I think about the club from time to time, but the industry has changed so drastically that I am happy I got out when I did. I currently own Billy Deans Showtime Cafe in Bellmore, which is a gentlemen's club and I have been there since 1998. I guess my favorite part of the years that I was at Anvines was knowing the satisfaction and impact the club left with so many people. Till this day there is not a person that I run into that does not remember the great promotions that were offered and how I was always thinking out of the box. Does anyone remember the Don Johnson promotion? It was by far (next to the holiday pig roasts) the largest event the club ever had. If not for Anvines, I am not sure where I might have ended up however I would never trade places with that very special part of my life. BTW for those of you that know me, I still wear hats.
