Penrod's Beach Club

There was a Penrods on Lauderdale strip. I would stop in there as well on my many walks to the other clubs up and down the stip. It was basically a dance club. There were a few rooms being it was attached to a hotel facing the beach. There was the Dance club side just to the right as you walked in, very packed on the weekends..too packed. On the left was more of just a lounge, quiet with constant Reel to Reel music, and at one point a downstairs, rock bar. Bands played there during Spring Break...was hot and humid there...whew!!! I found it much better than the one on South Beach(Point). Email me any memories of the strip bars and clubs in Lauderdale....cactus_tooth@hotmail.com....Chuck

Not real sure where the original one was, but I tended bar at the kiosk where the bathrooms are (14st.?)for a volleyball tournament. Got arrested for selling beer to a minor..apparently, the cops had sent this guy (5'10"- 170lbs.-mustache/unshaven) to buy a beer from me,turns out the guy was under age. Entrapment??? Gotta love those MB cops........

yeah there was, right on the the ocean, the strip, that one was probably even there first, and I did get to visit it, but since I'm a Dade clubber Ocean Drive was more frequent for me.

Wasn't there also a Penrod's on Ft. Lauderdale Beach?
