Bedrock was a small place with a Fred and Wilma Flintstone motif opened up when lots of small clubs popped up around Brooklyn. Good place to drop in for a drink on a Sunday night, meet some friends.

First opened its doors on Friday, May 27, 1977 and catered to a mature crowd of 23 and over.

This was an awesome little club. Looked like a cave inside with the "Flintsones" all over the place. The sound system was a killer for such a small place. Ofcourse Pooch turned it out while he was there, then he went to "Tribeca".

Located at the corner of Bath Avenue and Bay 13th St in the heart of Bensonhurst. Owners were AlVolpe & John Aire. The interior looked like a cave. Murals of the Flintstones adorned the walls. There was a small dance floor and DJ booth. Sound System was installed by New York Sound Company. Although it was really a local bar, it drew a nice crowd from the downtown Brooklyn area as well as Sheepshead Bay. Grand opening night was June 8, 1977, I left Gatsbys to work at Bedrock. The Dj was me, Danny Disc (BITD) I was the opening Dj and left in August to open Tribeca in NYC. Yeah, I bounced to a lot of clubs.
