Who went to BB's on Tuesday nights, WVUM Alternative music night? That was my favorite night, as you got a good (different) mix of people that night. The weekend was ok, but not quite the same vibe for me. Anyone that wants to email me about any club/bars in South Florida, I'd love to hear from you. I live in Vegas now, one of the reasons I moved here was for the clubs. My email is...

    Gene,

Hey man, worked there 88- to close, Halloween party, Toga, In land Beach Night, Bouzer from Sha na na!, remember the cruise on the yacht when Diana brought back everyone for one last party. Sure miss those days. Hello to Jorge too! Hope is all is well with you guys. Moved out of Florida in the mid 90' to the Great NW. Been doing contract work in the middle east for the last 3.7, ready for a break. I would love to attend a reunion, let me know.

    Later guys, be safe!

    Ron

Hi Tony P. here! I worked there as a bartender at the small bar after Dan left until I made the mistake of going out with the owners girlfriend and when we broke up so did the job. Had some wild times and made a ton of cash which all went up our noses. I would like to hear from some of the old staff

Still hoping someone runs into Louis Olivera..Although the patronage was 99% into having fun, there was the occasional individual who had one too many and Louis was the one you wanted covering your back when needed.
Best night other than the Halloween costume parties was when Ben E King sang 'Stand By Me'

If anybody has Halloween pics to add, I would love to see them.

Me and my friends absolutely loved BB's!!! We were quite the regulars and attended the Bed races. Hung out with a few of the bouncers. Stubbs was there one night and decided to bite my cheek. Excitement all the time!!!!!

  • Dan Dupuis

I worked as a bartender from the very beginning and stayed for years. Dan & Dan (we worked the little bar across from the champagne room that Gary ran). We both left to start a business. Had not thought of it in years, but was at a medical convention in Vegas and one of the pharma reps tells me he met his wife at Biscayne Baby and talks about that and Sundays on the Bay where I worked on the "other' nights.
I still keep in touch with John P. and hear about Shaun and Debbie and Dan.

I was thinking about BB's at work and decided to look it up on the net. I first heard about it off WVUM and that Tuesdays was VUM College/Alternative night. Im a metal head, but me and a few friends went there from work almost every week at midnight. Just loved the music and ppl watching. Yes, I too saw Mike Talbout there as well. I now live in Vegas and try to 'relive' the great times via the clubs and bars here being Miami's and Ft Laud clubs are gone and not the same...great posting guys.

  • Tina Rodrigues

WOW! What a rush!! I worked there, from beginning to end! Best time of my LIFE! A bartender @ first, then moved up, to DJ booth, with the "BIG BOYS" David Padilla & George Alvarado! Hi guys, keep me posted!
    XOXO,

I remember one night working the front door with George Greenia on a relatively slow Tuesday night when Dolph Lundgren ( The Russian in ROCKY)pulled up around 2am in a rented Porsche 944 with an amazing blonde woman. He was HUGE, broad shoulders and towering over both of us. Most importantly, he was polite and charming and not cocky at all. Another Tuesday night, Ron Wood, bass player of the Rolling Stones stumbled out of his white limousine with an entourage following him. He smiled and said " Cheers Mate" and stumbled up the stairs and proceeded to play guitar and have a jamm session upstairs....I loved Tuesday nights, mellow but unpredictable. First there were alternative Tuesdays and then we had the blues / jazz thing going on,,,,

Baby's was the best club to party at in the 80's. fine women and a great staff. I used to stay at the mayfair so it was really easy to stumble back. I even had a beer with Mike Talbet from the show Miami Vice.
    Great memories.

GQ, sorry I didn't see this earlier, I worked at Bisscayne Baby from the opening until it closed, just ran into one of the bartenders today and decided to look up BB's on the internet, they are planning a reunion. Try to get in touch with me.

I worked as a bouncer at Biscayne Babys for almost 3 years. 87-89. That was the best club. The people, music and the times were dynamic. I never experienced a boring night. You never know who might show up at the wee hours of the night; Celebrities, musicians, what a great club and wonderful era. I will always miss it.

  • Mike B.

Hey Louis (Freaky) Olivera! This is your partner in crime and fellow bouncer Mike(USCG). Miss the good times bro!!

I can't believe I'm only the 2nd post on this THE best Rockabillie club ever. Do you recal the pajama parties? My God every man I ever dated I met at Biscayne Babies. When are high school buddy Luis "Pichon" played, we were all there...Lily, Fifi, Claire, Frank "Papito" Annie, Maggie! I hear he owns Space in SoBe now. I remember one New Year's trying to make it in before midnight with my then boyfriend Kevin...Those were the best times of my single life.

I loved Tuesday nights at Biscayne Baby. They hosted "The Backdoor" for awhile that catered to the new wave, progressive, goth crowd and had some of the best music in Miami at the time.
The crowd was a mix of the artsy, the mainstream, the devoted and the wanna-bees and all got along just fine. This was pre SoBe so there were no velvet ropes or attitude-just a great crowd coming together to enjoy great music.
Fridays and Saturdays were interesting as the club had their regular format of playing oldies from the 50's, 60's and 70's.
