CLUB DETAILS

Had to mention Destiny II in Los Angeles 3739 Overland Ave.

Destiny II was one of the hottest discos in LA back in the 70s. Owned by Steve Bannergee (sp) who turned it into Chippendales. It was still a disco but had male strippers and was the beginning of the Chippendales phenom. Roy Madrid was THE DISCO TEACHER at the time. He, along with Denny Terrio, taught Travolta dancing for "Saturday Night Fever" and the rest is history. I taught with Roy and some on my own. We put on one of the biggest disco contests in Los Angeles produced by Midori Ligour to promote their melon liqour. I could go on and on.

Please note that in the interest of fairness, the names of DJs and staff are listed in alphabetical order.

I lived in the Valley,we would go to the club on fri or sat nite. The bouncers didnt seem to mind i was a bit underage as long as i brought flirty girls with me ... good times :) they did seem to play 'the hustle' and a ton of Donna Summer and KC...whew glad thats over

i grew up in palms and i totally remember passing by there and there would be a long line of women waiting to see the men dance. i even dreamed about becoming a CHIPPENDALES DANCER someday. that never happened though. and i remember going by OSKOS DISCO on La Cienega Blvd. the disco group G.Q. used OSKOS DISCO as the background for one of there album covers, its the one that had DISCO NIGHTS (ROCK FREAK) on it. IM SAD TO SAY THAT I WAS NEVER ABLE TO PARTAKE IN THE AWSOME FUN THAT WAS HAD THERE... BUT IM GLAD I SAW WHAT I DID. LAND MARKS THAT ARE NO LONGER THERE. SAD BUT TRUE

WENT THERE ONCE |

IF I REMEMBER CORRECTLY THE CLUB WAS IN A VERY RESIDENTIAL AREA AND PARKING WAS A PAIN ...

OSCOS WAS MUCH BIGGER AND BETTER ..
JUST ONE BIG BLOCK AWAY WAS THE ODASAY BOYS CLUB!!

DYLONS IN WESTWOOD NEXT TO UCLA, I THOUGHT WAS FOR THE HAUGHTY AND ARROGANT .

LOS ANGELAS IS A BIG LIE. IS, WAS, ALWAYS WILL BE.

THE L A CLUB SCEEN WAS PATHETIC TO PUT IT MILDLY.

TODAY IS NO BETTER, YET I AM OLD NOT BUT CAN TELL.

SEARCHING FOR FUN IN THE WRONG PLACES.
