I love your list but "Last Train To London" from ELO (Electric Light Orchestra) is a great song too.

.....How about "Slinky Thighs" from Larry Page, and even though it has a vocal chorus and background voices, how could you not include "Atmosphere Strut" by Cloud One.

What about 'Erotic Soul' (1976, by Larry Page Orchestra)?

  • miksaltiel

I agree with JudyDoggie - the impact of Salsoul's "Magic Bird Of Fire" when first heard in the clubs was .... powerful!!
Im my list you will also find Giorgio Moroder's "Chase", John Davis "Up Jumped The Devil" , Timmy Thomas "Stone To The Bone", Jimmy Bo Horne "Spank" and if you dig deeep, Titanic's "Sultana" , Space "Magic Fly" and Crystal World's "Crystal Grass"

"Get Away", "Theme from Shaft" and "TSOP" all have vocals and lyrics, so they're not really instrumental.

Salsoul's "Magic Bird of Fire" based on Stravinsky's "Firebird" Suite was great morning music that the late Roy Thode used to lay on us all the time. Why not? By the way, folks, get ahold of a book on musical history or music appreciation and look up the story of Stravinsky's "Firebird." This will make drama queens in particular sit on the edge of their seats, perhaps weeping from time to time. Salsoul had class!

Surely 'It's good for the soul' by the Salsoul orchestra should get a look in? It's stunning (though i do aprove on the whole, of your choice!)

I love MFSB and Love Unlimited Orchestra! If I could put something in this list it could be 'Scotch Machine' from Voyage.

  • iremember

I think "Let's get it together" from "el Coco" should have made this list.
