Now I can say for sure... These are the best disco Rodsongs ever!
So Dj spins the sound....!!!
There's also a song that I forgot, it's called 'Lovelines' that I love too. So if this was a top 12 chart I would add:
11) Lovelines - Karen Carpenter
12) Burn this disco out - Michael Jackson
What about some other beautiful Temperton-boogie-tracks?
Don't underestimate the following songs:
Herbie Hancock - the album "Lite Me Up" 1982 (6 out of 8 songs written by Rod)
Patti Austin - "Do You Love Me?"; "Love Me To Death", "The Genie" (on the album "Every Home Should Have One" 1981)
Quincy Jones - "The Dude"; "Razzamatazz" (killer-track!!!); "Turn On the Action" and the ever so beautiful song "Somethin' Special" (all on the album "The Dude" 1981)
Rufus & Chaka Khan - "Live In Me"; "Masterjam" (on the album "Masterjam" 1979)
Siedah Garrett - for the lovers of 80's-sounds "Groove Of Midnight"; "Baby's Got It Bad" (on the album "Kiss Of Life" 1988)
Personally I also liked Michael Mc Donald's "Sweet Freedom" (written and produced by Rod). It's the way how he arranges background-vocals that thrills me everytime I hear one of his Songs.
He's truly one of the most talented songwriters out there, hope he's going to write some party-tracks in a while (the last things I heard have been more or less cheasy ballads: check Mica Paris, Tamia and others)
