Dimitri's Cocktail Disco is not your dad's lounge record. Instead what Cocktail Disco has is an eclectic mix of obscure, funky and some jazzy Disco tracks that you probably haven't heard before. It's really a nice mix of vocal and instrumental material that should help round out your collection of Disco music.
I'm pretty sure it wasn't easy to dig up quality tracks such as these, but the fact is Dimitri from Paris was able to come up with a good number of tracks to make Cocktail Disco a two compact disc set for a superb extended listening session.
Cocktail Disco comes in a gatefold Digipak, which requires careful handling, but gives the set a classy appearance. There is a liner sheet with release info on each track along with some basic background information. Overall, a surprisingly solid compilation that begs repeated listening.

YOUR REVIEWS & COMMENTS ON Cocktail Disco
It draws from the golden era of 1975 to 1979.... so for all fans who like disco-music played by real musicians, full of orchestrations, brass, sax and flute solos... with lots of percussion, then this album is unmissable.
There is plenty of obscure music on this double CD. Well... maybe some of us may have heard some of the songs at the time, but it is impossible to remember now. The only songs I had was Frenesi by The Ritchie Family and The Vincent Montana produced album by Astrud Gilberto from which Dimitri takes Girl From Ipanema.
But the fact that the album is packed with rarities is not the most important feature. The album is good because the songs are excelent, not because they are obscure. The fact that they are rare is just a bonus.
This album reflects the spirit of the mid to late 70's.
