Varése Sarabande Presents the Original 7" Mixes
Somehow, some way, somewhere, Disco got a bad rap! Apparently all the dramatic dancing, all the scintillating music, all the colorful nightlife and fashions have been lumped into something resembling a bad '70s flashback. Disco deserves better. After all, the phenomenon brought people from around the globe together, providing us all with a level of musical exhilaration and joy rarely heard or seen -- let alone allowed -- since.

Observations
Disco Classics is a new release on Varése Sarabande Records featuring 20 Disco hits in their original 7" versions. It's rather unusual to focus on the 7 inch version, but Varése has done a nice job in presenting the many different facets of Disco from the pop stylings of "Ring My Bell" by Anita Ward to the Euro sound of "Love In C Minor" by Cerrone.
This release should appeal to many especially DJs and collectors who are looking for alternate versions of their favourite Disco songs.

some good titles there, but I sure prefer the full length album versions. The album versions of some of these songs, "Ring My Bell", "Don't Let me be Misunderstood" and "Mighty Real", for example, are twice as long as the versions here.
