Rice and Beans Orchestra
Dante's Inferno
Get Disconnected (US) / 2006 / DSC 5007
CD in jewel case
Producer: Pepe Luis Soto
Arranged and conducted by Hector Garrido
Canto 1-6 17:17 Rice & Beans Orchestra 1979
Canto 7-12 18:31 Rice & Beans Orchestra 1979
Get Disconnected is back with more Disco reissues, but this time they took it one step further by actually releasing an album from 1979 that was never released by TK Records back in the day.
Apparently Pepe Luis Soto, who is best known with the work he did with his wife Celi Bee, created the symphonic Dante's Inferno in late 1979 just as Disco was coming off its high and when TK Records was starting to feel the financial pinch and cutting back on releases. Suffice to say it was never released. So after twenty-five plus years this recording finally sees the light of day as a CD.
Dante's Inferno is an epic concept Disco album in the style of Costandinos and Midney. Though not as polished, it will appeal to those who enjoy 15+ minute symphonic Disco suites complete with strings and full orchestration.

DiscoMusic.com's original in-depth interview from 2004 with the late Barry Lederer. Barry began by Djing at several New York area clubs and later taking over Tom Moulton's "Disco Mix" Billboard column and being one of the principals of Graebar Sound. The team at Graebar designed and installed the sound systems for the Saint, 12 West, Trocadero Transfer, Probe and several other world class night clubs in the 1970s. Read it now...
