A fantastic seven compact disc collection taken from the mixing board of the fourth Remember the Troc Party from October 9, 2005. The night was programmed expertly by DJ Jerry Bonham who compiles and mixes a flawless set of classics. Hard to find, but available directly through alecmidney@yahoo.com.
The author of Saturday Night Forever, Jussi Kantonen had this to say about the Remember the Troc Party CD set:
Jerry Bonham's "Remember - The Troc Party" contains, in all probability, the absolute best disco dj-ing ever. I honestly think this is it, this is where it all comes together, the Magnum Opus of our music, the definite sonic Bible that will inspire, stun and humble anyone seriously into the genre. I could have never have imagined music could be spinned with that kind of feeling and technical bravado.
The seque starts with slowish bpms and accelerates thru the 110's and 120's into the very best no frills floorshakers via killers many of us have never danced to. Eq-ing, shading, coloring the tunes, meticulous inclusion of details, every aspect is perfect without sounding clinical. Within the first 20 minutes you are certain that he cannot top this or that seque, you think THIS has got to be the ultimate pièce de résistance, until the next blend blows you away again - just witness the way he goes from "The Passion" by The Flirts into the following track, you'll feel like the floor drops away beneath your feet. Basslines rumble, mutate and melt into new forms, a song appears to grow vertically from the left while your favourite string arrangement flows wavelike across. It's beautiful, art.
My tip is you tell everyone you'll be away for the whole evening, lay down on a sofa, put on your headphones and go to the Trocadero.
