A tight little album from the Toronto based production team of Ian Guenther and Willi Morrison (also known as Three Hats Productions / THP), probably best known for their THP Orchestra studio project. Originally released on the Prelude label, this is probably one of the most enjoyable albums from the THP production team. They went all out on this one; the production is full, layered and energetic throughout, especially on "Wastin' My Love" (later sampled on the Joey Negro feat. Taka Boom track "Must Be The Music") and "Night Time."
The other two songs are also enjoyable; "Takin' A Chance On You" and especially "Party Song," a rare attempt at a more funk-oriented sound. Another notable aspect is the great horn section particularly on "Wastin' My Love" and "Party Song." Like much of their other work from this time, the Duncan Sisters are featured on vocals. Well worth checking out, especially for those who enjoy some of Guenther / Morrison's other work.
