NOTES:

A few weeks ago I played several old La Bionda vinyl records on my turntable. LaBionda have always been a favorite of mine and listening to these old tracks again made me very happy. I thought, "These are so good, why not archive them to CD?" Time is never on my side so I never found the time to do it. Imagine my surprise then when I discovered this La Bionda CD!

Essentially a greatest hits collection on two compact discs, La Bionda's output from the 1970s and 80s appear here for the first time on CD. This special CD set is NOT a bootleg, but a legitimate Italian release from BMG-RCA and has very good sonics. It would have been nicer to have the individual albums, but this two CD set is a great start as it includes all the most wanted songs.

What I've always liked about La Bionda are their well written lyrics such as on "Desert of Mars," which is a haunting and beautiful song-one of my favorites. In addition their use of various instruments keeps things always interesting.

The only downside is that "Bandido," a big fave of mine, is not the original version, but what sounds to be a later remix.

If you are a fan of LaBionda then this 2-CD set is a no-brainer as the vinyl is getting harder to find in good shape and many if not all of these tracks have never appeared on compact disc before. Get it now!

YOUR REVIEWS & COMMENTS ON La Bionda

Its very cool that some of this stuff is getting released legit. What woulda been really nice is if they included some DD Sound on this collection as it was the same group none the less. Also, what the hell is with the dude flippin us all off on the cover of this CD??? lol

Yes, they should have also included more of D.D. Sound besides just the one song, "1-2-3-4 Gimme Some More." Perhaps they are saving that for another release since that could easily fill another two CDs!

Cool!!! This is music I grew up with, cathing it fresh on Radio Monte-Carlo waves ))))

Here in Moscow we have bootlegs of every album. But this seems to be very rare. I saw it twice for about $25.
