NOTES:

Modern dance music with classic sensibilities is the best way to describe Joey Negro's latest project: The Sunburst Band. Deep and soulful vocals along with some great instrumentation will greet you as you start this disc off with "We Will Turn You On" and work its way onto other nice tracks such as "Twinkle" and "Fly Away." Vocals are provided by such dignitaries as Linda Clifford and the girls from Chic: Norma Jean and Lucy Martin.

It's so refreshing not to have to listen to music that's nothing but samples that sound like a record skipping adnauseum. The Sunburst Band is a perfect blend of old and new and dispels the myth that real dance music isn't made anymore. Do check this one out.

YOUR REVIEWS & COMMENTS ON The Sunburst Band

My word, now THIS (Joey Negro and the Sunburst Band) sounds like a record I'd like to hear. I'm assuming there's no plans for a domestic release since so many American record companies reject dance music. If it's an import, is that why the price is $29? And on the subject of imports, is anyone else a bit frustrated that so many fine releases are on the Unidisc label, based in Canada? Can't we persuade some smart American company to release some of our favorites from disco's golden era? Sanctuary Records seems game to giving exposure to older artists.

Not really related to the Sunburst Band record, does anyone know if there's a compilation of music from Marlin Records?

Strange, but Amazon-UK has this Sunburst CD for £11.99 so if you convert that to US $ it's cheaper to buy it from the UK. Go figure???

Either way it is worth getting this excellent CD.
