NOTES:

It feels like a dream, but it's true... the entire Poussez! album, "Poo Say" featuring the Disco classic, "Come On And Do It" has just been released on compact disc. Did I mention that it was taken from the original master tapes?

Since the demise of Hot Productions and the general lack of quaity Disco reissues, Disco collectors have been wallowing in a drought looking for long lost singles and albums. A new company called Get Disconnected has just started to create a big buzz by offering to re-release a number of hard to find Disco classics on CD. One of their first CDs is this Poussez! album originally on Vanguard Records, which has been out of print for almost twenty-five years.

GetDisconnected included all the original Poussez tracks and even retained the continuous segue between tracks 1 & 2 along with including the Roy Thode 12 inch remix version as a bonus.

Get Disconnected mentions that the album was remastered from the original master tapes. Believe me, I was skeptical, but the label just sent over some prepress samples and I am floored by what I heard. While I can't vouch for the claim, based on the high quality of the sound and the lack of any tell-tale vinyl artifacts, I would say the sound is superb. I own several clean vinyl copies of the 12 inch of "Come On And Do It" and it has some inner groove distortion, which this remastered CD does not have. I detected a slight hint of wow and flutter on "You're All I Have" during a section of violins, but nothing serious as I've heard similar artifacts on the highly regarded Rhino reissues.

All in all, Get Disconnected should be commended for taking a big chance in releasing these Disco gems-and releasing them in their original glory. The Poussez album is highly recommended to all aficionados of quality Disco sound.
