This is an out of print early 1990s budget CD reissue of Grace Jones's 1978 album, which can fetch a hefty price tag on eBay these days. Overall the album is a significant improvement over her debut from the previous year. Though like her debut, Tom Moulton's Philadelphia disco sound figures quite prominently, albeit with less showtunes and a more straight-ahead disco sound on more of the songs.
Arranger John Davis is perhaps partly to thank for that, since his signature is very apparent on tracks 2 and 3 ("Pride" and "Fame"). For those who are interested in Grace Jones' disco work, this is a great album to have..... now if only they'd reissue it.

ATTENTION! Grace Jones 'Fame' CD is available on EBAY for £4.99 plus P&P. It is an official re-issue through a company called The Disc Kiosk who re-issue deleted albums and own the rights to many of grace's albums. 30/09/08
