Can You Dig It - The 70s Soul Experience by Rhino caught my eye one night while shopping for CDs at my local Tower Records store. First off, it is made to look like a retro 1970s 8-track tape wooden storage cabinet with fake 8-track cartiridges sticking out of the front. It even fooled this old timer who once used 8-tracks!

I bought the "Can You Dig It" box set for $99.95 at Tower only to discover the next day that Amazon had it all along for much less. Oh well, the enjoyment this 70s Soul Experience box set gives sort of cancels out the fact I paid more than I should have.

In short Rhino did an excellent job with "Can You Dig It - The '70s Soul Experience" in all regards; song selection, packaging and audio quality. The only slight downer is that Rhino chose to use the familiar radio edits instead of the album cuts. Nonetheless, this is a boxset that will put a smile on your face as all those memories from the 1970s come flooding back as you listen to all your favorite Soul / R & B songs. Just look at the tracklisting. Can you dig it? I knew you could dig 70s Soul. Highly recommended.

UPDATE: Can You Dig It - 70s Soul Experience is now out of print with remaining copies now fetching over $100. with the price rising as it becomes harder to find.
