MUSIC REVIEW & COLLECTOR NOTES

The legendary Hot Butterfly album by the late Gregg Diamond's studio group Bionic Boogie, which features the late Luther Vandross on vocals, has finally been reissued on digital compact disc by Funky Town Grooves Records out of the UK!

To say that this has been on the wishlist of DiscoMusic.com members for years is an understatement. The dream will finally be realized in the summer of 2010 when UK based reissue specialist label Funkytowngrooves brings this long awaited classic 1978 Disco album to CD from the original master tapes! These are not needledrops as FTG finally received permission from Universal who holds the rights to the old Polygram archives to access the original masters.

First things one notices are the clarity and airy openness of the soundstage and then a much deeper bass which gives the songs a fuller yet not fat sound. It's the way it was meant to have been heard now fully unlocked decades later. A must have Disco CD!
