PTG Records and Vinyl Masterpiece are in a groove with their new releases to start off 2010. They have a clear vision of what they want to do and that is be the preeminent source for hard to find Disco and Funk from the 1980s that other labels ignore. They have this niche all to themselves as they keep digging deeper to bring collectors of this genre some real gems.
Here we have The Temptations' 1984 album, Truly For You. which was originally released on the Gordy label (a Motown subsidiary) featuring the debut of the new lead singer Ali-Ollie Woodson in place of Dennis Edwards. Included on this album is the #2 R & B hit single Treat Her Like a Lady. The album was produced by Earth, Wind and Fire members, Albert Phillip McKay and Ralph Johnson.
This is really a nice solid album that I never had the chance to hear back in the day except for the famous single Treat Her Like a Lady. Some of the songs especially Just To Keep You In My Life have a very EWF feel. It's because of reissues like this that these albums are given a second life and make hardcore '80s Disco-funk and R&B music collectors so happy.

I kinda wonder why Motown didn't release this.....they're releasing a lot of other Temptations titles from their back catalogue...
