Hard to believe that it was in 2004 that PTG Records and Vinyl Masterpiece out of the Netherlands released volume one of Masterpiece - The Ultimate Disco Funk Collection. Fast forward to 2010 and they have now compiled volume nine (9)!

A few noticeable surprises...
1) An even longer Larry Levan mix of Tracy Weber's Sure Shot which clocks in at 7:14, while previous CD compilations only have a 5:42 version.
2) The inclusion of the very hard to find track, Straight Ahead by The Nick Straker Band.

As with their previous releases, you'll discover songs from the 1980s that you never heard before or in a long time. Vinyl Masterpiece have dug deep to find quality tracks and it shows. It includes a couple of exclusive edits by Frankie Rodriguez that are available nowhere else. A solid release worth picking up especially as it helps to support a label that is going out of its way to brings us some rare material. Their attention to music selection, artwork and audio fidelity are obvious. A labor of love that comes highly recommended.
