Before Brenda K. Starr became known for her Spanish language Salsa albums, she started out in the mid 1980s doing Freestyle tracks and ballads in English when she was only a teenager. If you enjoyed the sounds of Shannon or Lisa-Lisa and the Cult Jam or Alisha, then this release is right up your alley.
The reissue specialist label, Funky Town Grooves out of the U.K. has released Brenda's 1985 album I Want Your Love with bonus 12 inch mixes.

Incredibly talented writers and producers Lotti Golden, Richard Scher, Arthur Baker, Carl Sturken and Even Rogers worked on this iconic LP. All went on to write/produce some of the top hits of the 80's, 90's and beyond. Great musicians and background vocals as well as spirited performances by the one and only Ms. Starr herself. There is also a guest appearance by Beastie Boys rapper Adam Yauch on “Suspicion.” The Freestyle classic “Pickin’ Up Pieces” by Lotti Golden and Arthur Baker is another gem. Treat yourself to this one!
