NOTES:

For France Joli's sophomore album TONIGHT, Tony Green decided to showcase ballads as well as dance tracks.

The disco hits were THE HEART TO BREAK THE HEART (with her signature ballad to disco intro) and FEEL LIKE DANCING which was funkier than her usual stuff. STONED IN LOVE is a leftfield dance song though it is moodier and France's vocal is somewhat tougher.

This album should have established Joli (17 at the time) as a first rate balladeer because THIS TIME, WHEN LOVE HURTS INSIDE and TONIGHT are three stellar songs. At the time she was perceived as the "Lolita" of disco and this album showcased her amazing set of pipes.

This CD edition features the M&M remix of THE HEART TO BREAK THE HEART. An edit and intrumental version has also been added.

Reader Comments on France Joli

This album is not "exactly" an disco album. It`s not as explosive as her debut album but is without a doubt an effort to make good music. this is my personal opinion but I guess Tony Green was awared of disco music was soon to collapse and try to redirect the career of France to a more secure field. he track "This time" is a beautiful ballad I still remember, very enjoyable album I agreed with the coments above.
