Mantus is best remembered for the Disco hits, Dance It (Freestyle) and Boogie to the Bop. They disbanded around 1982 and quietly disappeared while their music was still played at clubs and Disco radio shows.
In 1999 lead member Billy Amendola along with the three original members regrouped and released this rare self recorded and distributed EP compact disc as a promo sent out to a few radio DJs and DiscoMusic.com. The track, Singer, Dancer, Lover, which has a very Latin-Flamenco and slight Island feel, received airplay by Joe Causi on WKTU radio's Disco retro show in their hometown of New York.
Heartbeat is also another good song that is very catchy.
