Don't be quick to judge Funky Nassau - The Compass Point Story as being a Reggae compilation because nothing could be further from the truth. What Strut Records has compiled on this disc is a retrospective of tracks from the early to mid eighties of music recorded at Chris Blackwell's Compass Point Studios in the Bahamas that range from Disco to Rock and everything danceable in between.
It kicks off with Grace Jones' "My Jamaican Guy" which does not appear on her recent Island greatest hits comp. Next up is "Genius of Love" by the Tom Tom Club, which along with the Larry Levan remix of "Padlock" by Gwen Guthrie justifies the purchase of this disc. Do check this compilation out.
