Volume three (3) Post Punk, Electro and Leftfield Disco Classics: 1974-1986, of the Disco Not Disco series continues to bring us more forgotten and not so forgotten gems from the other side of Disco and dance. This edition is compiled by Bill Brewster and Strut's Quinton Scott and takes a giant step forward in audio quality compared to other compilations featuring music from this era.
The standouts are Konk's Your Life, Quando Quango's Love Tempo and Shriekback's My Spine Is The Bassline which I believe are available here for the first time on CD.
Volume three of Disco Not Disco is a great followup to the series and we hope there will be other editions. The mastering/audio quality is also very good so quit procrastinating and pick this up.

I absolutely love these sortof leftfield dance projects. The sortof thing that makes you realize that EVERYONE,at some point, tried their hand at disco !!
This is in fact volume 3 and it is very good.Borrowing from funk,rap,proto-punk or minimal electro - those dance tracks cover the whole spectrum.
Do yourself a favor and listen to track 11 by Liaisons Dangereuses ; the pulsating rhythm and the insistant synth hook will grab your attention for sure.
Or try sitting down when playing "Contort Yourself" as August Darnell (a.k.a. Kid Creole) provides a very high-energy disco mix.
Note: On the jacket track 8 is identified as GINA X PERFORMANCE's "Kaddish" but it is in fact YELLOW MAGIC ORCHESTRA's Seoul Music.
