CD REVIEW & COLLECTOR NOTES

The roots of Disco and more. A super selection of full versions. Magnum Opus is a highly recommended double CD set. The only real downer here is the horrible song, The Crown.

What? The crown a horrible song? It's the main reason I bought this terrific set! One of the few places where it can be enjoyed in its full 10+ minutes glory. This Stevie Wonder penned and produced song has an irresistible groove. I can see why some people might think the chorus is a bit repetitive, but this thing was made for fonk'n!

Otherwise, a very enjoyable set if you grew up with seventies and eighties dance music and, like me, have been searching for some of these 12" versions for a long time.

Yes, all correct. Except "The Crown" Awful song?! Perhaps you have not listened to the lyrics, it ant-racist, about Black Power (I am white). An excellent tune. And was a big hit at the time.
