The roots of Disco can be found on Alright! Black American Dance Music From The Disco Era, an eye-opening new British CD compiled by Dean Rudland. It starts off with an unreleased track from 1979 by the Clark Sisters and winds its way throught the seventies and early eighties.
Alright! Black American Dance Music From The Disco Era contains a nice booklet and liner notes including color photos of many of the original albums with a blurb on each giving the listener some insight into the track.
If you are looking to dig deeper into quality Disco music, then pick this one up. As with other Ace releases, the remastering is top notch and taken from the analogue masters. I'd love to hear what else Ace has in their catalogue.
