Captain Beefheart
Captain Beefheart (1970s musical renegade Born January 15, 1941 -)
The Captain was by no means a disco artist, but the track Tropical Hotdog Night off his 1978 "Shiny Beast (Bat Chain Puller)" is a must-hear for the disco fan. It's "Like two flamingoes in a fruit fight!" to borrow a lyric from the song.

Mar 23, 08 | 3:43 amNever heard of the Captain, eh? Look him up! He came out of the psychedelic scene of the late 60s with his own brand of poetic avante-gard jazz insanity. Other songs I recommend: "Abba Zaba," "Zig-Zag Wanderer," and "Sue Egypt." Definitely not mainstream.

By the way, the above three tracks are definitely *not* in any way related to disco.
