Calling THE SPINNERS, "unlikely Artists" is technically wrong. In 1972-73, while touring, EVERY SONG THEY PLAYED HAD THAT DISCO BEAT, the hi-hat, the guitars. They jumped on the DISCO bandwagon before they knew where it was heading. Right at the start. They released one of the first 12" version Promos, RUBBER-BAND MAN. WORKING MY WAY BACK TO YOU/CUPID was a DISCO CLASSIC. they played those songs LIVE literally years before they were released. They were very danceable in the sixties as well. No, no way are the UNLIKELY ARTISTS!!

We can't forget the other songs by the Spinners. Games People Play and Cupid are also disco-like. I have heard a lot of their music, and though some might be mistaken for disco, it is in fact soul and funk. Still good music.

Once again, as a mobile and cruise ship dj you could always turn it up a notch with the spinners, timeless....
