YOUR THOUGHTS & COMMENTS

Don't know what everybody saw in this one. It was huge, but left me cold. Lots of other H & O tracks are more memorable. Liked it better when DeLaSoul borrowed it for "Say No Go."

Have to disagree with the previous comments. This was a classy piece of 'white soul', which did good business in the UK towards the end of 1981. I loved it to bits, and it mixes really well with Sharon Redd's 'Never Give You Up'

Hah hah.

many 12" inch singles in the 80's were big hits and got lots of airplay .

I have a remix of "Say It Isn't So" that REALLY moves, the bass is bumped WAY up. There's also delay and echo on the vocals. Great remix.

hall & oates had several good 12" singles and or remixes in the 80's while i never considered them a disco group many of their 12" mixes got lot's of club and radio airplay in the 80's and today. the 12" of say it isn't so is excellent if fans don't have it it's worth looking for!

Another example of where soul and disco get blurred. Hall and Oates is not technically disco but soul. The songs on the Private Eyes CD are good music, but I would not definitively call any of it disco. The song I Can't Go For That was a top pop and R&B hit, and it did get to #1 on the dance chart. Say It Isn't So and Out of Touch also hit #1 on the dance chart. Just goes to show how blurred the line between soul, funk, and disco really is.

These guys wouldn't call themselves DISCO, but for not a DISCO act, they sure sounded like one, and they had a lot of their music played in DISCOS- Remember MANEATER!!!
