YOUR THOUGHTS & COMMENTS
If "Rise" was a disco number, it was a damned slow one. What was it, basically just a b-flat scale? And as I recall, "Rotation" had basically one note. Neither packed as much energy as his languid ballad, "This Guy's In Love With You." Give me "The Lonely Bull" any day.
The secret with "Rise" was to play it at 45rpm! Gave it a real buzz!
Rise and Rotation were big hits from Herb Alpert. The clear vinyl version of "Rise" was a must for DJ Collectors.
