Crying [Disconet Remix]
You want the proverbial "Unlikely Artist", ROY ORBISON was it! What do say, "He never released a DISCO record?" You're right, HE NEVER RELEASED A DISCO RECORD. BUT, and this is a very BIG BUT! There was a DISCONET release, I think it was Volume Three, in the '50s Medley, where Bill Motley used PRETTY WOMAN in the MIX. This was BRILLIANTLY done, a fantastic remix that made this MEDLEY a HUGE PRIME TIME PLAYER for many, many months!
Now, being a huge ROY ORBISON fan, I think this was one of the BEST DISCONETS. He was such a great vocalist, capable of such BEAUTY with his voice, that his fans are many of MUSIC'S legendary performers. His influence was so diverse, from the BEATLES to QUINCY JONES. My favorite ROY ORBISON song? Easy for me, the hauntingly passionate, range defying CRYING. But Bill Motley made him a very UNLIKELY ARTIST.

May 15, 08 | 7:36 pmOne of the greatest singers in history. Classic songs, but he never made a disco song? This doesn't really count, he made no money on this, it wasn't his release. Pretty Woman was always a dance record, even when it was released. How could they have made it disco, by adding a drum track?

"Easy Way Out" off of the Laminar Flow LP (1979) is disco all the way...
